New day, new week - and almost a new month

Morning all from a lovely sunny Eastern Counties. Its the start of a new week and tomorrow see the start of yet another new month. Now I know time passes at exactly the same rate as it always has (and always will) but blimey - where are the days going????? Tomorrow will be my birthday - I will be 47 and a half LOLOL and then Wednesday it is Bernie's birthday - he'll be 31. I've had a look at the weather report as we are planning on going out for a few hours on Wednesday - and its forecast rain - typical. But it could all change by Wednesday so we'll have to wait and see whats in store for us.

I was playing with the rock-a-blocks again last night - I bought a clear stamp from the local shop - its from the Stamptivity Range. I liked the impression it made so I may get a few more - very reasonably priced I think - this one was £3.99. I think she looks so cute in her little red shoes.

Well, I can hear work beckoning so I had better get a wriggle on and get sorted. Hope you all have a lovely day and take care xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Latest Card

A customer has asked me to make her a card for her friends 60th birthday. Her friend breeds miniature smooth dachshunds and I was asked to make a card with one on. She also wanted a flat card for postal reasons so I hope she likes what I have done. I love the image of the mini smooth - I think its really sweet xxx
I ought to add that the backing sheet is Kings foil and it really doesn't like being scanned LOL

Friday 27th June ...............................

Good morning everyone - lovely and sunny here in the Eastern Counties so far - rain forecast for later though but only showers. Today is a very special day in my calendar at the moment as its just 3 months to our wedding day :-) Tomorrow it will be exactly 13 weeks and it still seems I have so much to do. I have had some very generous gifts of help from 2 friends on one of my forums that I visit regularly. The first lady, Nicky, has bought us a cake stand after conning me into telling her what type I was looking for - and then going onto E-Bay herself and actually buying it as a gift for Bern and I - how sweet is that and thank you Nicky xxxxx
The second lady stepped in when I needed help with a third waistcoat for my son - my seamstress was unable to do it and Dawn stepped into the breech to help. I have had the material etc etc sent to her and its now all in hand. Another huge thank you goes to Dawn xxx
I have to chase up the company that is re-doing my wedding ring after sending the wrong colour last time so I shall ring them in a couple of days and I have to ring the register office in Great Yarmouth to settle a few details.
And 'The Boys' are planning a trip to Matalan soon to get their suits.
Other than that, things are ticking over quite nicely :-)
I will keep you all posted over the next few weeks as the clock counts down xxx

Another rock-a-block card

I have no idea where I got this stamp from - again its been sat in a drawer gathering dust LOL
Still haven't improved on my colouring in skills but all that is to come :-)

Just a quickie ...

Been using the rock-a-blocks again a stamp that I got from Sharon Duncan ages ago and its only seem the light of day once before LOL.

Sunshine for Thursday - yippee

Well, good morning everyone from a beautiful sunny day here in the Eastern Counties. From what the weather bod says, it should be nice here all day so that suits me. There is some rain moving in for late afternoon / evening but I'll be home by then so I don't care LOL (so long as it stops by 7pm as Bern will be riding bike from work on his motorbike and I don't want him getting wet xxx).
I am so confused as to what to watch on the Tv at the moment - what with Big Brother, Wimbledon and the Create and Craft Midsummer programmes and all the super deals (thank goodness my credit card is maxed out and I can't actually buy anything). I am flicking from one channel to the next LOLOL. I need 3 TV's.
I am off to work shortly so I shall say ta-ta for now and catch up with you all soon. I will have some more cards to show you soon - I was going to do some last night but I fell asleep instead LOL
Take care and have a good day everyone xxxxx

I've been tagged too LOL

I have just been looking at the comments on my blog and noticed that I have been tagged by Peejay (Pam) so not fully knowing what I am supposed to do, I am going to try and answer the same questions that Pam asnswered on her's. Are you confused yet? Cos I am LOL

What was I doing 10 years ago?

Blimey, can I remember that far back? Well yes I can. I had been married for 2 years and just discovered that my (now) ex husband was an alcoholic after he had hidden it from me for 2 years. It was a tough time as I was being made to feel it was my fault yet I knew it wasn't. Anyway - lets move on to question 2 LOL

5 things on todays to do list?

Sort out some bits and pieces for a friend and bag them up ready for posting. Done that one x

Sort out 2 cd's for friends and get them ready for posting. Done 1 out of 2.

Check turntable to see if it has correct jacks on the back - about to do that.

Go to M & S and buy more Linen Ironing water - but they had run out :-(

Read Gas Meter for one of my clients at the request of her mum - did that one too.

Snacks I enjoy

I love fruit and lots of it. I also enjoy crisps but am on a Slimming World diet so tend to have them as a treat at the weekend. The same goes for chocolate. Bern has got 2 snickers bars in the fridge and the temptation to go eat one is killing me LOL

Things I would do if I were a millionaire

I'd do 'the norm'. Pay off the mortgage, clear the debts. buy hubby2b his Alfa Romeo that he's always wanted. Make sure my family were okay and get back on my bike the next day and go to work xxx

Places I have lived

Always within the home town.

I am now going to tag :

LizBe

Toni

Jean

Or at least I would if I knew how to :-) LOL

Rock-a-blocks

Hi everyone. Well after some erming are ar-ring, I took the plunge and invested in a set of rock-a-blocks from Crafters Companion to see if it would help improve my stamping techniques. From the few times I have used them, I do have to say, I like them. To prevent myself putting the ink onto the rockers, I simply put a piece of low tack tape on the rockers and barely patted it down so it just came away when I had finished inking up my stamp. Its only a simply design but I am very pleased with it xx

Mary Rahder bathing beauties

I have been asked to make an 80th birthday card for a lady to give to her friend. She wanted something funny and there was something on the telly about Victorian bathing beauties at the time and she asked for something along the lines of the old saucy seaside postcards. I immediately thought about the Mary Rahder movable decoupage sheet. I had fun making it up as I'd never made one of these before.

Birthday card for Hubby-2-b

Its hubby-to-be's birthday on 2nd July so I have made him this card. I used Cup Cake Craftings Oriental CD and printed direct onto the card from the "ready card" section. I then printed a 2nd image onto card and double embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then simply layered it up with double sided foam tape. Do I love him enough to put a tassel on? yes I do. Do I have a tassel? No I don't - hence why it hasn't got one LOL

New card from Sharon Duncan CD

I made this card using the Paper Petals CD by Sharon Duncan. I printed the background direct onto my card stock and layered the decoupaged Aster with pinflair glue gel. I made the happy birthday 'ribbon' myself using Word.

Friday 20 June 2008

Tis Friday today .............

and boy do I wish I could just go back to bed. I am sssssssoooooooooooooo tired. Bernie has been away on a 2 day course and the car appeared to be running okay. Well the short version i s- it conked out yesterday on his way home. After trying to fix it and bodge it on the side of the road, in the end he had to abandon it in a field, walk 2 miles to the nearest town and managed to get a bus home. What should have been a 1 hour journey took over 5 hours. Oh well, something else to add to our list of disasters I guess LOL. He got home at 11.45pm last night and his mum had dropped her car round to ours earlier in the evening so at least he was able to get to work this morning for 7am. By the time he had calmed down and had a cup of tea it was almost 1.30am before we got to bed. His alarm went off at 5.15am so he'll be shattered at the end of his 12 hour shift today and I've not long been up and I want to go back to bed already LOL.
The weather looks nice today though so hopefully I won't get wet x
Hope you all have a nice day xxx and I'll catch up with you soon xx

New card x

Good morning everyone and welcome to the weather report from the Eastern Counties. We had some heavy rain overnight and its very windy but we have cloudy skies and sunshine at the moment. More rain forecast for throughout the day so I will have to pedal fast and avoid the raindrops LOL.

I made this last night for a friends forthcoming birthday. Then when I took it out of the scanner, I looked at it and though it needed 'something more', so I got out my sakura pens and jazzed up the daf's a bit and put some glitter on his nose.

Wet Wednesday :-((

Good morning everyone from a wet Eastern Counties and its going to get wetter if the weather bod is anything to go by today. On a positive note, I have done 99.9% of the planting at one of my clients so if it holds off just a bit, I can get the last 12 geraniums planted today (pretty please be nice to me xx). They can then get a good watering in later when the heavy rain clambers overhead. I live in hope LOLOLOL.
Got a few bits and pieces to do today but am hoping to get back to card making this evening. Its my hubby-to-be's birthday on 2nd July and I have no idea what to do for him card wise. Any idea's would be appreciated - thank you xxx
Have a good day everyone and thank you for dropping by
see you soon xx

Tuesday 17 June 2008

Good morning everyone xx

Hi everyone and welcome to Tuesday xxx
The weather is quite nice here at the moment in the Eastern Counties although "light rain" is forecast for sometime today. I've put a request in for about 8pm this evening as I'll be indoors then (I'll be indoors long before that but I was being nice to others in the area too xx).
My cold has finally abated and I feel a lot better now. It hung around for quite a while but I beat it down with the tablet box LOL
So, what else is everyone else up to? anything exciting? let me know in the comment section.
Have a nice day everyone and drop back in soon
ta-ta for now xxx

Thank you from a father to a daughter

One of the gentleman I clean for has been ill recently and he has asked me to make a thank you card to give to his eldest daughter as she has been done so much for him whilst he was ill. I have made this for her so I hope he likes it xx

Yesterday's bottle ...

As promised, here is a scanned image of the celebration bottle I made at the craft meeting on Sunday. I have only done the basics and not made it for any specific occasion (we were given Xmas toppers but I am resisting at the moment LOL).
We also made a matching box with acetate front.

Craft meet report

Hi y'all. What a fab day its been. Met up with Dawn, Nicknat, Carmel, Linda, Debs, Lynne, Sheila, Becky, Bev & Toni at a village hall in Offord for a craft class with templates run by Denise - a lovely lady that owns a craft shop in the village. We were going to be doing 2 projects - a champagne bottle and a dovecote. Denise had done a lot of the preparation for us (as she always does) and we started on the celebration bottle. This one went down fine (I will post a picture later when I've uploaded it). We all had a good gossip, chat and a laugh whilst we cut out the main pieces and we all made lovely bottles.
Then we started on the dove-Cote. Well, what a laugh this turned out to be. SOOOO many pieces and so much cutting. I never managed to finish mine although I do have all the template parts if I ever get a spare weekend to try it again LOL.
We had all taken something for lunch and there was a really nice spread altogether. Salads, sandwiches, quiche, chicken drumsticks, crisps etc etc. I had taken a lovely chocolate cake from M & S and Debs had made some delicious chocolate croissants (really tasty). Tea and coffee were free flowing and all in all we had a really good day :-)

Sunny Sunday morning

Morning all from beautiful sunny Eastern counties this morning. And to make it even better, I'm off out to a craft meet today with some lovely friends of mine :-)

I will let you all know how it went later on.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday xxx

Change of slideshow

The slideshow on the left hand side is now showing cards from October 2007
(just thought you'd like to know that LOl)

Last nights cards as promised

This one had been made for a friends birthday who likes beach scenes. As I am still experimenting with the settings on my scanner, it looks more "coloured" than it actually is. Using Greeting Card Factory, I was able to print the base image direct onto the card - a technique that I have envied many others doing for quite a while now but thanks to the new 3-in-1 machine, I can now do this.

This is for another friend who likes orchids so I found this stunning picture and loaded it into 3d2 card builder and used the oval setting this time as I think it looked the most effective. The backing was made from the same image using the tile effect in the same software and again, printed direct onto the card.

Friday 13th (try again LOL)

Oh, what a Muppet I am. I pressed the wrong button and posted nothing on the other "Friday 13th" post. Oh well, not to worry LOL
Well the weather person said it was going to rain in the Eastern Counties - did it heck as like LOLOL. Its been quite nice today - I could have put my washing out on the line - if I had had any to do that is. I bet it will pour down tomorrow though - I have a 3 mile bike ride to get to work :-(
I've got a couple of cards to upload in the morning - I'm just waiting for the glue gel to dry before I put them in the scanner. I got an order today for a thank you card. One of my clients was ill recently and his eldest daughter rallied round and did so much for him and he had asked me to make her a really nice thank you card so I shall be doing that tomorrow.
Well, have a good evening everyone and catch you soon xxx

No rest for the wicked

This one is for my God-daughters birthday on 21st June. Made using the Crafters Companion Girls cd and the space cat is on a wire so it bounces when it stands up
This one is for a friends birthday, Made using an image I found on the Internet and pyramaged with 3d2 card builder. The backing sheet was made with the same software from the base image.
I think thats me done for tonight LOL. I was going to a craft club this evening but my cold got the better of me so I decided to stay home in the warm, but I got bored so made these 2 cards this evening. Thats a few more ticked off the list LOLOL
Good night all xx

Busy afternoon

Made for a couple celebrating 60 years of marriage - there is no specific flower for a diamond wedding anniversary but I do know that the gentleman loves his flowers and I though this image was nice enough for a large A4 card. I used 3d2 Card Builder software to create the diamond pyramage for the card

Made this for my dad on Fathers day

Made for a lady's birthday next week. Its the same lady that is celebrating her 60th wedding anniversary above.

Made this for Sarah's dad for Father's Day. They used to own a Dellow Hill Racing car hence the image used on the card itself

Wet Thursday

Good morning all and welcome to a wet start to the day here in the Eastern Counties. Its been raining heavy all night and although it has stopped for now, more is forecast for later in the day and there's a good wind blowing at the moment. And how did I know it was going to rain?? Well, I bought a new funky peg bag LOL. When I bought my washing line it rained for a week before I could use it and now I've bought a new funky peg bag, well it looks like the same is going to happen again http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290235416210 that's the link if anyone is interested in getting a new one. I know hanging out washing can be boring but we can all brighten things up just a little bit. I've not finished any cards (heavy cold and a problem on the home front put paid to that) but I do have some pics of my garden to show you

The peony and gazinia didn't come up too clear as I'm no David Bailey when it comes to camera's but it does look lovely. The poppies are really pretty but they don't last long.

The water lily is taking a good strong hold in the pond now and there are 6 flower buds waiting to emerge. I can't wait for them to come out as they are so beautiful when they do. I shall take a photo of them for you to see

And finally, Sabrina had to get in on the act when the camera was out so here she is saying hello to everyone
