Papertake weekly sketch challenge 23.03.09

I was asked to make a thank you card for a mother to give to her son & daughter-in-law so I combined the request with Dawnie's sketch over on PaperTake
Hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

Efforts of last nights craft class

Last night, Dawn and I went to our local craft class and here are 2 of the cards I made. I Haven't started the concertina cat yet but I will do (maybe).
The top one is just an s-shaped card that I haven't embellished as I want to use it as a template and the 2nd one is an iris-folded funky sheep
It was good to go to the club though as I haven't been for a while.
Hope you like them and thank you for looking xx

Twins birthday cards

I have made these for twins who are celebrating their birthday this week (one is a girl and one is a boy). The top one is from the delectable Daisy & Dandelion collection that I coloured with whisper markers.
the 2nd is from my stash of papers etc

Stamp Something Challenge

The challenge this week on Stamp Something is to make something with a feeling of spring so as my mate wanted me to make a Mothers Day card for her mum, I came up with this. I have again used another stamped image from Daisy & Dandelion which I coloured with pastels. I used sakura glaze pens for the flower. The papers are from my stash.
Hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

Sketch Saturday challenge #43

Here is my card not only to give to my mum for Mothers Day tomorrow but also as my entry in this weeks Sketch Saturday Challenge . The image is from the new Daisy & Dandelion range - isn't he cute xxx

Odd birthday card request

The lady that requested the yellow birthday card for her sister also asked me to make a fun one from her sisters 3 black labs. So I came up with this and she loved it :-)

The card stock is from the new papermania range and I really like them - makes it so easy to attach fibres / ribbons etc etc as they don't slip off LOL

Hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

Birthday card for a Brother-in-law

I made this card for a gentleman to give to his brother in law. it is from Joanna Sheen's Jayne Netley Mayhew CD - the wildlife section and is simply layered up on some gold dufex sheets that were being sold off in my local craft shop for 99p for 6 sheets

2 sketches for 4u monday challenge 16th March

Killing 2 birds with one stone here again - completing a blog challenge over on 2 sketches 4u and making a card to order for a lady to give to her sister. the sentiment is a personal one used between the two of them and the lady asked if I could incorporate it into the card for her. I used a die-cut decoupage sheet and coloured in the daffodils with yellow pastel whisper marker pen and added a touch of glamour dust. the paper flowers are again from Prima.

CupCake Crafting Challenge 16th March

Seems like ages since I completed in a blog challenge but I have been a busy bee. So here is my entry for the challenge on CupCake Challenge this week. I chose to do Brown + Pink for my card (although the photo makes the corrugated card at the back look purple but it is bright pink). The rubber stamped image is from Rubber Monger which I stamped up with versamark and dabbed it with mica powders to give a lovely shimmery effect when its turned. I didn't have any brown ribbon so used a pink piece and rubbed it over with a coffee bean brilliance ink pad and I also used the same inkpad on the flowers which are by Prima.

2 cards made this evening

The top card is a bit of a rush job - I got a call from my mum earlier asking me if I could make a card at the request of a friend of hers - and could I drop it off tomorrow morning !!! So I do hope its okay.
The second card is for a young man of 16 who likes to plane spot at Heathrow and checks flight details on Ceefax - so after some scouring of the internet to see what the format is like, I have come up with this card using Greeting Card Factory to do the artwork on the Television Screen
Hope you like them and thank you for looking xxx

Monochrome birthday card

I have made this monochrome birthday card using the sheets available from Jak at the Crafters Kitchen . Please visit her blog if you are stuck for inspiration at any time - you won't be after you've visited her stunning blog x

Dufex birthday card

I was asked to make a card for a couple to give to their grandson so I used this dufex motorbike image that I had on a sheet. To make the flags, I used a checkered background and an effect in greeting card factory to give them an irregular feel and cut up a large skewer and coloured them with a sakura market pen in gold
Hope you like it and thank you for looking xx

2nd Art nouveau Card

Here is my 2nd card from the My Craft Studio Art nouveau CD.

Art Nouveau Card

A client of mine has twin nieces celebrating their birthday shortly so here is the 1st card I have made for one of them. I used the My Craft Studio Art Nouveau CD for the images and a piece of pre-printed vellum for the background. I only used 4 layers as it has to go through the post but I still think the effect is very nice.

Dunkers ATC swap- March 09

The theme this month is "Initially Yours" and the idea is to make your ATC's using the initial letter of your 1st name as the theme. So I have made my first one with the theme of "Cats" and my second one is called " Colourful Collage of Circles".
Hope you like them and thank you for looking xxx

Ink on my Fingers blog challenge

The challenge on Ink On My Fingers this week is to produce a piece of artwork using stamping and with the theme of cats. As I don't yet have all my craft stash with me I have come up with this simple ATC which is also part of my contribution to this months Dunkers ATC swap over on Sharon Duncan's forum where the theme this month is "Initially Yours" and you have to create 2 ATC's using the initial letter of your first name as the inspiration - hence me using CATS for the first one.
Hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

This made me laugh

When I got in from work earlier today, I put on the TV and pulled up the TV guide to see what was on. And on ITV, there it was. The FA Cup Live - Coventry V Agatha's Christie's Poirot LOL.

I would have to go with Coventry to win that tie - Poirot may be good but he can't take on a whole team on his own LOL

I know its difficult times for a lot of people so I'm not asking anyone to put themselves into debt, but if you feel you can help out with this one, it would be appreciated

Dutch Sunflower Birthday card

The sunflowers aren't Dutch - the card is going to a Dutch lady. The decoupage sheet is from the dufex range and the backing papers are from papermania.
I am also going to enter this card for a blog challenge when I can remember which one it is LOL

Wet Wednesday

... although saying that, it does look like it is clearing up now and the sun is doing its best to claw its way out from behind the clouds so we may have a nice day after all.

I got an e-mail from the companion of one of my clients late last night to say that Victor had passed away on Tuesday morning. He was 93 (would have been 94 on Sunday) and had had a good innings and led a very full life. He had been ill since Christmas though and it was like he just gave up bless him. He will be sorely missed xxx I shall be going to see Roger (his companion) later today.
I also have to pop back to the chiropractors today for him to give me some more treatment on my aching back. I had a session on Monday evening and boy did I ache afterwards but I know it will all be okay in the end. Then its back to the card making as I have a lot of orders to fulfill this month.
So with that I shall love you and leave you for now and catch up with you soon xx
take care all xxx

3 cards from last night

Phew, had a busy night last night. Had to make 2 cards for 2 nephews (but they are not brothers so its okay). And I was also asked to make a card for a couple celebrating their 1st wedding anniversary. I was asked to keep them all flat to go through the post so the top 2 only have 3 layers of decoupage made up with 1mm foam pads but I don't think it detracts from the over-all look of the card at all.
The anniversary card was made with a topper from Joanna Sheen's Victorian Romance CD

Morning all xxx

Good morning everyone from Hobbit Corner here in the Eastern Counties. Bit of a gloomy start to the day - very overcast but dry so that's a good thing.
I am settling in nicely to my my new pad and new way of life now and beginning to enjoy it. I have created 3 completely separate area's in my home from one 1 room. I have a sleeping area behind the small partition, I have a crafting corner (known as Hobbit Corner where I am writing to you now) and my relaxation area where I can veg out on the sofa and watch TV if I want.
I still have loads to pack back at the house but I can do that. I didn't do anything this weekend as I have hurt my back and wanted to rest it - i vegged out most of the weekend and it was fab :-)
I am slowly getting back into my crafting and must get a wriggle on tonight as I have about 4 cards to make for orders.
Bern also starts his new job today so maybe we have both reached a turning point. We spent an evening together last week and it was the first time in 16 years that we had total privacy in my home - the feeling was amazing x
Anyway, I must be away and get ready for work so I shall love you and leave you for now xx
take care everyone and have a good day xxx

Paul ATC Swap March 09

Pauls theme for March's ATC swap is Patriotism and as today is St. David's day and my daffodils are in full bloom my take on the theme was to use a flower associated with each country and add them to my ATC's.

Therefore we have Daffodils for Wales, An English Rose, Silk Bells of Ireland and the Scottish Thistle.
I really enjoyed making this series and the brads represent the colours of the country.
Hope you like them and thank you for looking xxx
