2 sketches 4u bonus sketch 29th dec

Different colour scheme for me on this one. Its for the bonus sketch on 2 sketches for you. Again (as in the previous card) its all made from freebie papers. Not sure if I like it but just cos I don't, doesn't mean to say that someone else won't.

hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

Two sketches for you challenge

I think this card could definitely be classed as a freebie - almost every element is from free gifts from magazines. The backing paper is from the current issue of PaperCraft Essentials, as is the Thank you buttons and the gingham (everyone say ye-ha) strip. The tiny piece of mulberry paper has been floating around my desk for months and the adhesive stones were also a freebie from a previous magazine.
Its very simple but I love it.
Hope you like it too and thank you for looking xxx

Papertake weekly sketch challenge 22.12.08

I know this challenge was set before Christmas but it is running for 2 weeks and as I was so busy before Christmas, its a good chance for me to catch up now. The topper was in a packet of "stuff" that my mum gave me so waste not want not as I say and I think it looks sweet on this card.
Hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

CupCake crafting challenge 29th Dec

The challenge this week over on CupCake Crafting Blog is to make a card inspired from their very own blog page so here is my interpretation of the theme this week. The cupcakes are from the Sassy Chic CD that is part of the My Craft Studio set.
Hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

Birthday card

My housemate, Sarah, found the basis for this card in a box. I had made it at a playday at Deb's house months ago. Sarah wanted another birthday card for a friend so I adapted it and turned it into a large oversized card (well, if you need to pay the extra for the depth, you might as well go the whole hog and go for the full size too lol) . The flowers are the faux foldy flowers from Fred, She Said designs as is the backing paper.

Secret Crafter challenge - Paper Piecing

I have to admit, I had to read the title twice as after looking at the DT cards, I was struggling to see where the paper PIERCING fitted in - then I realised it was piecing so quickly threw this together. I also wanted to try out my cuttlebug "leaf" embossing folder and I caught the versamark pad on the backing before I chalked it but it is a handmade card and there should be a little mistake on it somewhere LOL (my excuse and I'm sticking to it).
Hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

Challenge card and a belated birthday card in one

Sarah, my housemate, suddenly remembered today that her friends birthday --- was on Boxing Day so I have made this card for her to send to poor Pippa. I used the challenge as set by Sketch Saturday this week which gives us free range to use any of their previous sketches from the past year. I have no idea which one I used, just scrolled down till I found one I really liked. The lilac backing sheet is from Jak over at Crafters kitchen and the rest is all odds and end's. The butterflies are a freebie from the latest Do-Crafts magazine and the fan paper is again a freebie from Papercraft Essential magazine this month.
Hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

Card for Sarah's dad (look familiar? lol)

Well, waste not, want not. I already had the images printed out and it was a good reason to have a play with my set of oval nestabilities dies that my son bought me for a Christmas present.

Happy Boxing Day everyone

Are you all fully stuffed with turkey etc etc etc? lol I'm not - cos we had pork and lamb this year and very nice it was too. Well today, I didn't have a lot to do and I knew I had a birthday card to make for an order so this morning, whilst watching Joanna Sheen on Ideal World, I decided to use the Jayne Netley Mayhew CD to make this card for a gentleman soon to be celebrating his 60th birthday. I have also been watching a lot of The Lion Man series on Sky 3 so Big Cats are quite prominent in my mind right now.
Anyway, I hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

My most recent cards

Sarah's xmas cards for her family & friends

Nutmeg is okay (thank goodness xxx)

Sarah took Nutmeg to the vets today and she has been given an MOT and she is fine. The vets think her mood swings are a reaction to the steroids she is on and the fact she is getting old so we just have to grin and bear it. But the main thing is she is okay and that's all that matters. She is back home, moaning and grumbling her head off at the moment as she can't find anywhere to settle down but she'll be fine.
Been busy still with Xmas cards - though I had finished then all them my mum rang up as a friend of hers wanted 2 cards and I then had another quick order for 5 (which I finished earlier).
The meal we had here on Sunday was wonderful - I'll give Sarah 10 out of 10 for the meal she cooked and a good time was had by all.
Right, back to the grindstone again. I shall be posting the cards later and also show you the one's that Sarah made on Saturday evening for her family so pop back soon for a long post full of cards.
Take care for now and thank you for dropping by xxx

Artylicious Xmas card #2

Well, there was some bits left over on the sheet and Sarah wanted a card for her brother & sister in law so waste not want not LOL

Artylicious Xmas card

Just when you think you've made your last Christmas card for the year, your mum rings you with another order for someone LOL. So here is what I made last night. Its entirely from the Artylicious Seasons Greetings CD and I have to say, I think its one of the prettiest cards I have made for the Xmas Season.
Hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

Xmas card for my parents

Made this card for my mum & dad who have been marvels to me these past couple of months. It doesn't seem enough but its the best I can do at the moment xxx
The medallion is from Fred She Said and is very simple to cut out and assemble.
Hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

Welcome to Friday everyone

It seems like ages since I have written anything in my blog but I think I shall have a bit more time now so shall be back blogging soon enough.
As you can see from the pic, we have put up the tree at long last. In all likelihood, this will be my last Christmas in this house and next year, whatever happens, I shall be away from this house and starting a new phase of life with Bern.

So, Sarah and I have decided to make this Christmas go with a bang (as far as we can anyway). The tree is up and at night it looks fab as its one of those fibre optic ones and there are lights up at the window and the hallway looks like a throw back to an 80's disco with lights flashing and twinkling away.
On Sunday, we have my parents, sarahs dad and step-mother, Sarah's Aunt AND Sarah's friend coming for dinner. They are all bringing different parts of the meal and it should be a great afternoon. So if anyone else is in the vicinity and wants to drop in, dinner is at 1pm - just bring your own food (and a chair would be good lol) and let us know you are arriving lololololololololololol
On a worrying note though, we are having to take old Nutmeg back to the vets today (or Monday) as she is not herself and bit me 2 days ago so best to get the old girl checked out just in case - but the vets did warn me that she didn't have long left bless her and I don't want her to suffer in anyway so if its her time, I shall love her loads and let her pass over the bridge. She has given me many years of pleasure and has had a good innings. I shall let you know what happens in due course.
Anyway, I must be away and get ready to start my day so I shall love you and leave you for now.
Thank you stopping by and for all the lovely comments you have left for me - they mean so much to me xxx
take care everyone and have a good day xxx

I am still here people's xxxx

Firstly a HUGE HUGE thank you for all your kind words. I am still about and still putting one foot in front of the other on a daily basis and that has to be a good thing in anyone's book.
I have finally finished the big order that I had and have now just got odd's and ends to do now, one of which included the above card for a young lady turning 21 on Christmas Day. Her grandad always sends her 2 cards, just like all his other grand-children so I used the gorgeous Art Deco CD for this one and have to say, I love it.
Its a landscape card but it opens from the side not the top and I love the look on the dogs face.
Hope you like it and thank you for looking and caring xxx

Thank you xxx

I wanted to send everyone a card this year - but I can't do that financially so I know you will all forgive me for sending you this instead.
Many of you have had much greater events to bear this year than me and I couldn't begin to imagine what it must be like.
For me, its been one of the toughest years of my life and whilst I am no way out of the woods yet and the New Year is going to bring its own share of problems, today is a time to say a big thank you to each and everyone of you that have been there for me just listening and letting me wail away.
I'd like to wish you ALL a content Christmas and a reflective New year xx
Take care everyone xxx
