Nutmeg is okay (thank goodness xxx)
Sarah took Nutmeg to the vets today and she has been given an MOT and she is fine. The vets think her mood swings are a reaction to the steroids she is on and the fact she is getting old so we just have to grin and bear it. But the main thing is she is okay and that's all that matters. She is back home, moaning and grumbling her head off at the moment as she can't find anywhere to settle down but she'll be fine.
Been busy still with Xmas cards - though I had finished then all them my mum rang up as a friend of hers wanted 2 cards and I then had another quick order for 5 (which I finished earlier).
The meal we had here on Sunday was wonderful - I'll give Sarah 10 out of 10 for the meal she cooked and a good time was had by all.
Right, back to the grindstone again. I shall be posting the cards later and also show you the one's that Sarah made on Saturday evening for her family so pop back soon for a long post full of cards.
Take care for now and thank you for dropping by xxx

Artylicious Xmas card
Just when you think you've made your last Christmas card for the year, your mum rings you with another order for someone LOL. So here is what I made last night. Its entirely from the Artylicious Seasons Greetings CD and I have to say, I think its one of the prettiest cards I have made for the Xmas Season.Friday, 19 December 2008
Xmas card for my parents
Welcome to Friday everyone
It seems like ages since I have written anything in my blog but I think I shall have a bit more time now so shall be back blogging soon enough. As you can see from the pic, we have put up the tree at long last. In all likelihood, this will be my last Christmas in this house and next year, whatever happens, I shall be away from this house and starting a new phase of life with Bern.
So, Sarah and I have decided to make this Christmas go with a bang (as far as we can anyway). The tree is up and at night it looks fab as its one of those fibre optic ones and there are lights up at the window and the hallway looks like a throw back to an 80's disco with lights flashing and twinkling away.
On Sunday, we have my parents, sarahs dad and step-mother, Sarah's Aunt AND Sarah's friend coming for dinner. They are all bringing different parts of the meal and it should be a great afternoon. So if anyone else is in the vicinity and wants to drop in, dinner is at 1pm - just bring your own food (and a chair would be good lol) and let us know you are arriving lololololololololololol
On a worrying note though, we are having to take old Nutmeg back to the vets today (or Monday) as she is not herself and bit me 2 days ago so best to get the old girl checked out just in case - but the vets did warn me that she didn't have long left bless her and I don't want her to suffer in anyway so if its her time, I shall love her loads and let her pass over the bridge. She has given me many years of pleasure and has had a good innings. I shall let you know what happens in due course.
Anyway, I must be away and get ready to start my day so I shall love you and leave you for now.
Thank you stopping by and for all the lovely comments you have left for me - they mean so much to me xxx
take care everyone and have a good day xxx

I am still here people's xxxx
Firstly a HUGE HUGE thank you for all your kind words. I am still about and still putting one foot in front of the other on a daily basis and that has to be a good thing in anyone's book.I have finally finished the big order that I had and have now just got odd's and ends to do now, one of which included the above card for a young lady turning 21 on Christmas Day. Her grandad always sends her 2 cards, just like all his other grand-children so I used the gorgeous Art Deco CD for this one and have to say, I love it.
Its a landscape card but it opens from the side not the top and I love the look on the dogs face.
Hope you like it and thank you for looking and caring xxx

Thank you xxx

I wanted to send everyone a card this year - but I can't do that financially so I know you will all forgive me for sending you this instead.
Many of you have had much greater events to bear this year than me and I couldn't begin to imagine what it must be like.
For me, its been one of the toughest years of my life and whilst I am no way out of the woods yet and the New Year is going to bring its own share of problems, today is a time to say a big thank you to each and everyone of you that have been there for me just listening and letting me wail away.
I'd like to wish you ALL a content Christmas and a reflective New year xx
Take care everyone xxx
Birthday card for a wife

Morning all from a very very cold and frosty Eastern Counties today. All I can see from the window of the hobbit is white roofs, white grass and white pavements. Thermal underwear etc etc for me today then.
Anyway, I made the above card at the request of a gentleman for his wife who's birthday is next week. I used and image and backing sheet from the Triple Treasures 2 CD as they both like teddy bears (the man is a collector). The card slipped a tad on the scanner so it all looks a bit skew-wif LOL.
Hope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

Stop the world, I wanna get off .......
Please, someone, just let me have a break - I am soo soo soo tired. But its all in a good way I guess. I thought I had come to the end of my bulk xmas card orders - til I delivered half a batch of 50 yesterday and the guy said "ohh, by the way, I have the rest of the order sorted now and I need another 76". Fine, I said, with a smile on my face lol. So I shall be burning the midnight oil again for the rest of the week so please don't worry people's if you don't see me around much. Challenges have gone out the window this week too which is a shame as I like doing them.
And if anyone has a hubby / partner or themselves that would like to come to my house and fix a baton under a row of tiles both front and back, please let me know. We were told (by a builder) that it would only be about £150 - the quote we got yesterday was £900 - well there's no way that's happening.
Its as if things are beginning to get on top of me again and I just want to scream. But hey ho, I have to be strong and carry on but I don't want to.
Right, best myself in gear and get off to work. Thank goodness my cold didn't latch on Friday - whatever it was has passed xxx
Have a lovely day everyone and take care xxx
(and send me some luck xx)

Birthday card
What a busy day ...............
After having a well deserved lie in this morning, I went over to Huntingdon Garden & Leisure to have a look around their Christmas decorations and they are just gorgeous. Then came home and went into work, then came home and printed off 25 Xmas cards for an order that I shall be completing later this evening. The made the above La Pashe card for another order. The wrapped up against the icy conditions and went to see a couple about a cleaning job and start a week on Tuesday so that was good as I just finished one last week so I lost one, I won one which evens itself out nicely. Then came home and Sarah (my house mate) had cooked a lovely sausage casserole and now I am up here about to start again and get the order for 50 cards well on its way to be completed. All in all, a good day though xxx
Hope you like the card and thank you for looking xxx

Cute Card Thursday Challenge - hearts
The theme on this weeks Cute Card Challenge is 'Hearts' so using the Angel of Love die cut decoupage sheet, an embossed heart sheet, one of Jaks gorgeous backgrounds and a bit of pull-ribbon, I have come up with this. At first, I wasn't too happy with the way I had inked & heat embossed the heart background (after I had run it through the cuttlebug) but then it grew on me and I now quite like the Distressed look of it - fits in well with how I look most of the time LOLFriday, 5 December 2008
For fans of fresh decoupage ....
You can't go far wrong by visiting this site Crafty Designz. The artwork is truly wonderful and there are so many different sections to browse through and the prices are extremely reasonable too.
I have no connection with this site at all - other than I wanted to share it with you all
Lili of the Valley sketch challenge #11
Having fun using up bits and pieces again lol. Here is my take of this weeks sketch on Lili Of the Valley The backing papers are from Crafters Companion Festive LTD edition cd and were in my box from another project. The Forever Friends Bear was from the free stickers pack from this months Do-Crafts magazine and I have again used a chipboard flower & triple embossed it.

ABC challenge. T is for ...............
Three's. Here is my card for the ABC Challenge this week . I routed through my stash and found these 3 bits of paper and 3 toppers that I had left over from last year so mounted them onto a cream card and added a piece of pink ribbon that had been wrapped around some A5 blanks from the Anita's range. 1 card - 2 challenges
I have made this card to fit it with 2 challenges this week - one on Just xmas & birthdays and the other on A spoonful of Sugar.I used a pergarmano template and chalked through it for the 2 panels and a thank you rubber stamp. I used 2 chipboard flowers, ink them up then triple embossed them.

Been industrious again
Well as you can see, I've been making some special cards for the Mayor & Mayoress of St.Neots. I have made 15 of these tonight and have put ivory flower soft on the door, lamp & letter box. The background image is from Cute Companions Xmas CD. I have just noticed too that the scan makes the card look as if its truly evening and that you can really see the candle light in the window - lovely xxHope you like it and thank you for looking xxx

Sun is shining again (but for how long)
Morning all, well after writing yesterday morning that we had gorgeous sunshine, within half an hour of getting out the door it was pouring with rain so I shall be very careful with today's weather report lol. The roof's opposite me are covered in a fine dusting of frost (looks like someone has been out with the icing sugar in a dredger LOL). I love looking out at it as you can clearly see who has the better lagging in their house. At the moment, it is clear blue skies and sunshine all the way and the weather person on the BBC said it should be sunny all day today but clouds are moving in later this evening and it will turn again. We might even get a bit of snow. I have already received a text advising me to wrap up warm though as it flipping cold (I changed the actual wording used to make it more Post Friendly so you can use your own discretion as to what it actually said).
So now, I shall love you and leave you and hope you have a good day xxx
take care all and thank you for looking xxx

Papertake weekly sketch challenge 01.12.08
Welcome to Sunny Tuesday
Its the 2nd of December and the sun is shining brightly down here in the Eastern Counties but I do know that others in the country are not fairing as well so please take care if you are out and about in the snow today.
You may have noticed that the top 2 posts don't seem to be moving down the page - well that's cos I want them at the top so everyone can see them all the time so don't forget to scroll down the page a bit to see the latest cards and news etc etc etc.
Been busy with card orders over the past couple of days and other stuff has been going on too (that I am not going into here xx) and I have a busy few days ahead of me too before I can relax a bit.
I am trying to combine challenges with actual orders which is good in a way as it takes me out of the rut and gets me thinking about my cards more.
If anyone is "umming & r-ing" about whether to join in a challenge - just give it a go. The worse that can happen is that you don't like it - so then don't do another one - but at least you can say you tried.
And with that lecture of the day (lol), I shall love you and leave you and chat to you all again soon.
take care and stay safe xx
