Hi everyone, haven't blogged for a while so though I would show you what I have been up to this evening.
Space bubbles canvas
I started out with an 8" x 8" blank canvas.
I didn't prime this one with gesso but you can if you wish.
I then got out a selection of Tim Holtz Distress ink pads and just created random area's of colour all over the canvas.
I gave a light spritz with water and pulled it away with paper towel.
I then chose 3 colours of Paperartsy Fresco chalk paint and added a tiny drop of each colour into a mixing tray and added an equal amount of water to each colour.
I used a nail art fan brush to flick the paint onto the canvas and repeated this for all 3 colours.
I finished with a spray of shimmer gold.
I dried the canvas with a heat gun to make sure it was 100% dry before continuing with the next stage.
I knew I would find a use for these circle masks as some point - and today was the day. Lay them out in whatever pattern you choose over the canvas - adhere them as best you can.
Then paint over the entire canvas with black gesso. I painted the sides as well, but again, that is up to you.
Once dry carefully peel off the masks to reveal your "bubbles" underneath.
To finish, I used a black micron pen and drew sketchy circles inside each bubble to add a bit of interest...
and there you go - a piece of art.
Hang it any which way you choose.
Thank you for reading my blog
