Today, 100 years ago, the world saw the beginning of World War 1.
Tonight, between 10pm & 11pm, people are being asked to turn their lights out and light a candle in remembrance of those who lost their lives.

I have made this simple card to simply 'Remember'
I created the background using Fresco paints from paper artsy. I watched Leandra do a demonstration on Sunday at Stamperama using a baby brayer so this is my version. I have had the poppy stamp for a long time and I can't remember who it comes from. I think it may be from Sheena Douglass's range.
The leaf die if from one of Sue Wilsons die sets.
I coloured the poppy with promarkers from the latest Ltd Edition Spring / Summer 2014 collection, after I had embossed the stamped image with fine detail gold powder.
I then mounted the background onto black card and left a very thin border before mounting onto matt gold mirri card.
The 'remember' stamp is from HobbyArt Stamps Commemorative set and is well worth a look
I'd like to enter this card into the Addicted to CAS challenge #44 this week.
Hope you like it and thank you for looking
